History is a chronological collection of events compiled from newspapers, literature, printed documents, personal papers and other archival records, artifacts, and oral accounts about a particular people, country, period, or person.
Students studying history must be aware of bias. Bias is prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.
History is a continuous academic endeavor that is up for debate and exploration. New evidence is constantly being discovered and added to the story of mankind. When we incorporate new data long established ideals can be challenged and alter our own personal perspectives. We, as a member of a society dedicated to progress, should always be willing to question established norms and personal opinions.
